I was so inspired to create a party post in honor of a candle company I have loved for years. One of my first (and still favorite) jobs I had while in high school was at a craft and home decor store, where we had one of the biggest selections of Yankee Candles® in town. I would use just about any excuse to help people who were shopping in that section, set up new displays, and I loved learning all about the new fragrances when they they arrived. These fun memories inspired me to create a party called Warm Hearts, Warm Home, Warm Holidays, inspired by the warmth of the candles, and how a holiday decorating party is the perfect excuse to get together with friends and family members, and enjoy each others' company during the busy holiday season. Keep reading to see how great this party turned out, and hopefully get a few ideas for a holiday party of your own.

THE PARTY TABLE SETUP

I loved focusing the look of this party on vintage touches, and found such pops of color in red and aqua. I loved using this white Christmas Tree and garland, and I made this super adorable tree garland (Inspired by Scandinavian design). The icing colors that I mixed up wound up matching SO perfectly!

For this particular party table setup, I thought back to my craft fair vending days, where I set up (and researched) lots of different Craft Fair Table Setups. I noticed that the best setups created lots of different heights on their tables, to get everything more to eye level for guests. I saw how many people used wooden crates to create these heights, so I "shopped" around my own home to find wooden boxes, cutting boards, serving trays, and my vintage look wire basket to create as much height as I could - in turn creating fun little cubbies and vignettes to place party supplies and decor, waiting to put a smile on my guests faces.

To create different heights on my party table, I flipped over a wooden box, topped it with my white Christmas tree, then sprinkled candy around the bottom, and added a cute fox ornament. LOVE this personal touch!

SAFE-USE CANDLE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Always burn your candle on a heat resistant surface, keep it out of drafts and NEVER leave it unattended while lit.
  • Please make sure the candle wicks are cut 1/8 of an inch to ensure the flame isn’t too large
  • Each time you burn your candle, allow the entire top layer to become a fragrant pool of liquid wax and you’ll get the biggest, boldest fragrance possible.
  • When only ½" of the wax remains, it’s time to let your candle go. You can also try the freezer method to remove wax so you can reuse the jar for another purpose.

I completely agree wholeheartedly that Yankee Candles® are the best candles available. Their scents remain true throughout the whole life of the candles, and there are SO many varieties of fragrances, something for everyone, really. I enjoy being able to pick these candles up while shopping for my holiday party supplies, and other holiday decor and groceries at Walmart, and also find my candles there too - they make perfect gifts for the holidays, and come in 3 sizes. I showed the smaller size, and the larger format size.

Find these candles in the home decor/candle section at your local Walmart - they have SO many fragrances, it's fun to spend some time smelling them all. It's a candle-lover's paradise.

ICING COLORS + PARTY TIPS

I grabbed three types of icing at Walmart - White Vanilla, Chocolate, and Red. I have tried to mix my own red icing before, and would still be mixing colors if I had not grabbed one that was already red in color. I colored the white vanilla icing in lime green and also an aqua color, which wound up matching my plates and utensils almost to a T! How great :) I also grabbed these plastic icing bottles from the party decorating part of Walmart, and after coloring my icings, I put each color into a Ziploc bag, then cut the tip off to then squeeze the icing into the bottles. This makes for almost NO MESS!
